چکیده

The soil is influenced by the roots of plants because exudate radicals affect its physical, chemical, and biological processes. aim this research was to evaluate microbial activity soils cultivated with yacón (Smallanthus sonchifolius Poep. & Endl) H. Robinson inoculated microorganisms which promote plant growth. experimental design used randomized blocks three repetitions per treatment. Each repetition corresponded a 3m x plot 25 plants, in 5 cultivation lines distance 70 cm apart. Four treatments were applied at time plantation. These consisted propagules Azospirillum brasilense (T1) native mycorrhizal fungi (T2) consortium (T3). In control treatments, not these (T0). Soil samples collected lots located Province Catamarca, northwest Argentina. implantation harvest during agricultural cycles. total Biological Activity (TBA) determined Fluorescein Diacetate Hydrolysis. TBA affected different crop rose analyzed statistically from treatments. Significant differences also observed between beginning crops comparison recorded values harvest. inoculation A. affects marking significant increase.

Occurrence of Azospirillum brasilense in soils amended with swine manure

Restriction analysis of amplified 16S rDNA from bacterial strains isolated from soil was used to evaluate the effects of swine manure and urea fertilisation on indigenous populations of the plant growth promoting bacterium, Azospirillum brasilense, in corncultivated experimental plots. Several operational taxonomic units (OTUs) were found among the isolates. One of them, identified as A. brasil...

Andean yacon root (Smallanthus sonchifolius Poepp. Endl) fructooligosaccharides as a potential novel source of prebiotics.

The ability of three known probiotic strains (two lactobacilli and one bifidobacterium) to ferment fructooligosaccharides (FOS) from yacon roots (Smallanthus sonchifolius Poepp. Endl) was compared to commercial FOS in this study. Results indicate that Lactobacillus acidophilus NRRL-1910, Lactobacillus plantarum NRRL B-4496, and Bifidobacterium bifidum ATCC 15696 were able to ferment yacon root ...

Enhanced Mineral Uptake by Zea mays and Sorghum bicolor Roots Inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense.

Inoculation of corn (Zea mays) seeds with Azospirillum brasilense strain Cd or Sp 7 significantly enhanced (30 to 50% over controls) the uptake of NO(3), K, and H(2)PO(4) into 3- to 4-day- and 2-week-old root segments. No gross changes in root morphology were observed; altered cell arrangement in the outer four or five layers of the cortex was seen in photomicrographs of cross sections of inocu...

Effect of biochar on nitrogen retention in soil under corn plant inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

Maintaining the levels of nitrogen in agricultural fields to ensure crop yield performance is challenging due to the complex dynamics of nitrogen transformation in soil. Nitrogen is mainly taken up by plant roots in the form of nitrate, but it is considered as an environmental pollutant that threatens human and animal health. Therefore, it is necessary to use adsorbent compounds to retain nitra...

Activity of two catabolic enzymes of the phosphogluconate pathway in mesquite roots inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense Cd.

The mesquite amargo (Prosopis articulate), one of the main nurse trees of the Sonoran Desert in Mexico, is responsible for major, natural re-vegetation processes. It exudes gluconic acid in root exudates, a favorite carbon source for the plant growth-promoting bacterium Azospirillum brasilense. Two enzymes, gluconokinase (EC 2.7.1.12) and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.44), particip...
